We just spent the weekend in the North Woods of Wisconsin (known as Asconsin to Lily and Kit). My cousin, Chris was getting married there, so we decided to make a weekend out of it, complete with baby-sitters Papa Kenny and Grandma Susie.
I, the picture-taking queen, did not remember to bring my camera. Here's the low-down, minus cute pictures.
- Christine and Scott had the most beautiful, natural wedding imaginable, complete with bon-fire and smores.
- Baby Jack looks kick-a$$ in a 'coon skin hat.
- 7 hours in an un-air-conditioned, vinyl seated car is too long for 2 year olds (and their parents). Five hours is the maximum limit.
- Minoqcua is a place we will visit again.
- A small kiddie pool with a slide is the equivalent of Disney World to Kit and Lily. Much to our amusement, they shouted "We're at Asconsin," when we finally got to the pool.
- When a potty trained toddler says she has to "go"...she has to go!

The kids were a blast. We're so glad you all made the journey to "Asconsin"....it would not have been the same without you. And as for the pictures...those of us who were at the pool will have images of Kitt, Lily and Jumping Jack embedded in our memories for a long time. Glad to hear you had a fun trip to Asconsin! What car did you travel in with vinyl seats and no a/c? It sounds a bit like a Griswold family vacation!
