Well, Lils...you finally performed in your very first dance recital (May 21, 2012).
You have been taking sporadic ballet lessons since you were three, because there has never been any doubt that you are a dancer. Although we have been very much looking forward to this day...we were a bit apprehensive. You don't care to be the center of attention, and you flat out admitted earlier in the year that you were not going to go on stage. Lo and behold...you surprised and amazed us in every single way!
You woke up excited, and carried that enthusiasm with you throughout the entire night! And, you were gorgeous, glowing...contagious! Maybe it was the song you danced to ("Butterfly Kisses"), maybe it was that you had a super cute fan club of cousins who could barely wait for your number to go on, maybe it was because you were oozing with confidence on that stage, maybe it was because we could hear you dancers saying "open up like a pretty flower" all the way on the balcony, maybe it was because you could have twirled for hours...maybe it was because you were perfect! There are no words strong enough to describe a parent's pride when her child has done something incredible. Thanks for giving us that feeling.
