I was very excited to come home from work yesterday; I had dinner cooking in the crock-pot! To a tired, working mother, that is a wonderful thing. Not having to cook and prepare dinner meant more time to rest, more time to play outside on a beautiful day with my daughter, and...the pot can go in the dishwasher! So, the night before, I spent quite a bit of time chopping vegetables, cutting chicken, sanitizing where I cut the chicken, etc. It would be worth it, though. These were all things that I would not have to do the following day.
When I came home, my kitchen stunk.
I peered through the glass lid to see darkness. Very black darkness.
My meal was BURNT! How the hell do you burn a meal in the crock pot?
I was annoyed...very, very annoyed.
Thank goodness for the local pizza place, and for a retired papa who cleaned my crock pot today.

The crock pot is the working woman's best friend (and a lazy housewife's friend too!). I've never burnt any cockpot meals, but liquid is the key. Must have liquid! Also, cook on low, but that's a no brainer.
