Jack's First Day of Pre-school!

It happened. Our baby went to pre-school for the first time today!

And, gosh darn it...he looks so old. Maybe it's the notebook (that he insisted on bringing) that makes him look so collegiate?!

He wasn't super excited. He wasn't really scared. He didn't even appear to be sad or anxious. He was just Jack!

He knew he had to go. He figured it would be kinda fun. However, he didn't want to be without me. So, we had a good hour together today of getting acclimated with all of the cool toys in his new classroom!

It's so much different to send our youngest off on these milestones. Naturally, when Jack starts a new stage, there is a certain sadness...this is the last time we get to experience this. And, these events come up SO much faster seeing as how we aren't concentrating on just one child. Time flies, and we fly with it. Then, bam, ready or not...here we are! On the bright side, we likely get to make things a little bit better for Jack. We've been there, we've done that, and hopefully, we know better. He has the BEST first teachers, and we know it. Lucky for him, they know him (and us), too. So, they will waste no time getting him to talk and be himself. Our stubborn boy (whose only request today was that he "wasn't saying HI to anyone") didn't cave for forty-five minutes. One of his teachers tried five times to crack his shell today. All she got was a head nod yes at the end of class. I give her a week...and then he will be in love. See? A little bit better to be that second kid sometimes.

Happy pre-school days, little man!
