It's not snowing...
...and the fireworks aren't going off during daylight!
Uncle Alan was just having a 3rd of July all his own...with a chain saw!
And, now our beautiful, very old tree is much, much safer thanks to the rental of a cherry picker and an uncle who came to cut down dead branches.

Hurrah for uncle Alan. Hope the tree lasts a long time now. It gives you a lot of shade. The kids looked really interested in what was happening.

I am glad he did it the safe way! Most men would have shimmied up the tree with the chain saw in hand... Three cheers for Alan!
