My "Mr. Mom"

My hubby is back to work tomorrow...what very welcomed news! 3 weeks turned into 3 long months, and now it's showtime. Aside from all the frustrations and hardships that came along with his time off, I've been spoiled with 2 months of flawless mornings that included skating off to work all by myself. And, Jack has been spoiled (on the days he wasn't going crazy) by having the opportunity to be Mr. Mom.
But, the real beneficiaries of our "hidden" blessing have been Jack and Lily!

Dear Daddy,
Thank you for being our go-to, here every day Dad. We've had you all to ourselves...that usually never happens. How lucky we are! We just loved every second of spending time with you. We know it was hard for you to change job roles like that, but, we're impressed. You held it together, figured lots of new things out, and never let on how "stinky" life can be. We appreciate all that you did to make our days together the best.
Thanks for all the trips to get Slurpees, our walks and bike rides, for helping do things around the house so Mom could spend more time with us when she got home, and for figuring out how to feed us breakfast before you've had your morning coffee.
Thanks for remembering that we like the yellow vitamins, for combing hair before pre-school and trying to make outfits match. Thanks for making Garbage Day Tuesdays so exciting, for remembering to read to us, and even taking our pictures once in awhile. Thanks for being the one we called out for in the morning. Most of all, thanks for appreciating our mom...now you both know how long the day is when it's two kids vs. one parent.
Finally, thanks for the gazillions of laughs, tickles and smiles...and even for the routine and reprimand you brought to our days.
We Love You,
Jack & Lily

THAT...made me cry. Very sweet.

The kids are lucky to have such great parents who look at the time Jack wasn't working (outside the house) as the true blessing, and made the most of it. You and Jack are wonderful parents!
